Caffeine and brain function

“Tea has an influence to excite the nerves, and coffee benumbs the brain; both are highly injurious.”(5T 365). Today this counsel has been usurped by the fashionable use of caffeine in the form of green tea, coffee, regular tea, soft drinks, chocolate and other caffeine containing beverages. On December 11, 2001 the New York Times related that MRI scans of the brain were affected by caffeine use. In a presentation at the Radiological Society of North America, Dr. Aaron S. Fields of the University of Wisconsin reported on studies done at Wake Forest School of Medicine. The study revealed that caffeine could reduce the flow of blood to the brain by as much as 25%; depending on the amount consumed. This could adversely affect the MRI reading, not to mention what it could do to your brain health. And be assured, we all need as clear a mind as possible. So, to be on the safe side, just leave caffeine alone. God gave us this counsel for our own good! It may make it easier for us to receive and appreciate the truths for these last days!
