You may be eating well, exercising, getting adequate sleep and doing everything you know to care for God’s temple. So when a direct attack fails the enemy tries to blindside you. Two covert dietary attacks on the body temple include: hidden salt and hydrogenated fats. Excessive salt is a risk factor for high blood pressure and digestive problems like reflux. Therefore, it is imperative to read the labels on the foods we purchase. Any food with more than 200 mg of sodium per serving is too much.

Hydrogenated fat is a detrimental unnatural food item which is man-made and should be avoided. Hydrogenated fats are generally found in baked goods and processed food. These fats are associated with an increase risk of heart disease and certain types of cancer. So regardless of the trans fat labeling, if the ingredients contain the word “hydrogenated” it should not be eaten. So for better health, eliminate all food containing hydrogenated fats.
