For decades you have been taught by medical professionals that fruit was not to be eaten except in very small amounts if you have diabetes. This “flies in the face” of God’s Word which says, “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” (Gen. 1:29) Well, a recent study in the British Medical Journal, August 2013 verifies the truth of the Word of God. “Eating more fruit, particularly apples, grapes, and blueberries, meant lower type 2 diabetes risk, according to findings from a longitudinal observational study. Each additional three servings per week of whole fruit was associated with a significant 2% lower odds of type 2 diabetes incidence after adjustment for other dietary, lifestyle, and personal risk factors, Qi Sun, MD, ScD, of Harvard School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and colleagues found.” This did not prove to be the case with fruit juices or cantaloupe, which both increase the risk for type 2 diabetes. So if you want to reduce your chances of having type 2 diabetes, control your blood sugars if you have diabetes, and even reverse type 2 diabetes; eat fruit for better health!
